Begin lightly
We start where the tradition says to start: closets, storage, duplicates — the easy layers. You build momentum and learn the rhythm before anything tender is on the table.
Guided Swedish death cleaning for Southern Arizona. Not a purge, and not about dying — a calm, unhurried way to lighten your home, revisit your life, and leave your loved ones memories instead of a burden.

The Swedish tradition of döstädning is simple: go through your belongings gradually, keep what still means something, and pass the rest along while you can see it land. Most people know they should do it. Almost no one can face it alone. That’s what I’m for.
The Hemma Program
A guided journey through your home and your story — typically 8–12 visits, at your pace.
We start where the tradition says to start: closets, storage, duplicates — the easy layers. You build momentum and learn the rhythm before anything tender is on the table.
We move through the house together. Every object gets one of four paths: keep, give now, sell or donate, or let go. What you give away, you give with your own hands — and get to see received.
Photos, letters, collections, the things only you can explain. We slow down here. I help you record the stories that belong to these objects, so what you keep carries its meaning forward.
We finish with what the tradition finishes with: a private box for the things that were only ever yours, notes or letters for the people you love, and a home that holds exactly what still matters.
This isn’t about death — it’s a life review with your hands in it. Clients finish lighter, clearer, and, almost always, surprised by how good it felt. Programs are scoped and priced after a free home visit, so you know the full cost before we begin.
Start the conversation →Practical, room-by-room organizing that respects what your belongings mean — not just where they go. Well suited to right-sizing or simply reclaiming a home that’s gotten ahead of you.
Steady, judgment-free support when a move is on the horizon — your own, or a parent’s. We sort what goes, what stays, and what finds a new home, so moving day arrives lighter than it would have.
A home in transition is never just a logistics problem. It’s a life, mid-sentence — and it deserves better company than a dumpster and a deadline.Kristi · Hemma
A free, unhurried phone call or home visit. You tell me what’s prompting this — a milestone birthday, a move on the horizon, a house that’s grown heavy — and I listen. No obligation, ever.
Together we shape a simple plan: which rooms, what pace, what you’d rather not face alone. You’ll know the scope and the full cost before anything begins.
I work alongside you, session by session — steady hands, good company, and a pace that honors what this actually is. You stay in charge of every decision.
Hemma is Swedish for “at home” — because this whole practice comes from a Swedish tradition, and because that’s where the work happens: at home, in every sense.
I’m Kristi — a Tucson-based guide for life’s material transitions. I came to döstädning through years spent thinking about what we keep, what we release, and how we’re accompanied through change. A home in transition is never just a logistics problem. It’s a life, mid-sentence — and it deserves better company than a dumpster and a deadline.
Whether you’re lightening your own home, helping a parent right-size, or beginning to think about what your belongings will mean to the people you love — you don’t have to sort through it alone.

Book a free conversation →A 20–30 minute conversation about your situation, honest guidance on whether this is the right fit, and a clear next step — even if that step isn’t with me.
